About this project
For as long as I can remember I have been wanting my sculptures to really come to life. I have made two short stop-motion animations in the past and I would like to create many others that will, with the proper equipment and materials, become more sophisticated every time.
For my KickStarter project I would like to raise $2800 or more to create the next Future Islands music video for the song, "Walking Through That Door," from their new album, "In Evening Air," in which I also created the cover artwork for. I have known Future Islands for 7 years now. We started a band together in college called Art Lord And The Self-Portraits, and the guys went on to become Future Islands thereafter. They are truly amazing. I have been doing artwork for their albums ever since they started, and it would be an honor to create their next music video!
I will use stop-motion animation techniques and I will solely create the puppets, sets and props. Upon receiving sufficient funding for the video I plan on purchasing professional armatures for the skeletal infrastructures, and making a visit to the store, The Complete Sculptor, to purchase mold making and casting supplies for the puppets to ultimately have complete movement and flexibility created. I will also need to purchase lumber and various nick knacks for the set design I have planned for the characters to interact within.
I received a video camera for my birthday last year so a big cost has been taken care of, but there is still a lot to purchase to make this as beautiful and poetic as the song is and for what I have in mind. I will create and shoot the whole video in my apartment and would like to have the project completed by early September. The sooner I receive the funds, the sooner I can conceive this fantastic song's visual component and share it with the fans of Future Islands, Art Lord and The Self-Portraits and Kymia Nawabi.
Lets get together and make this happen!
