We Made It!
First, a big Thank You to everyone for making this a successful campaign! We reached our goal of $11,000 today!
Thank you to all who donated, and to all who helped spread the word by talking and posting about us and this campaign. Thank you to all who help out in ways that I might not be aware of. It’s awesome to see so much support for our idea and for making it a reality. We appreciate all you have done!
The campaign officially ends Friday, and we will continue to push through to the end. Some of the extra dollars we raise from here on will help us offset the fees that Kickstarter and Amazon charge for hosting this site and for processing the payments/donations. All together, they take 8-10% of the total amount raised/donated. After that, some of the extra dollars will allow us to make the gaming experience better!
Next, since we have met the goal of our campaign, I am starting on the paperwork and applications to submit to the lender. The funds raised through this Kickstarter were the last bit we needed to be able to go to the lender to request a loan for the rest of the startup costs. Lenders like to see people come up with a certain percentage of the total startup cost on their own before they give a loan for the rest. We now have that percentage, and we can move forward with the loan paperwork!
At this point, we still hope to be able to open in October. The loan paperwork will take 6-8 weeks to process once the final version is submitted. It may take a few revisions in paperwork to get our ducks in a row for the lender and to meet the SBA Loan requirements. Once we are approved, I am estimating another month or so to prepare the space and install all the equipment.
