Update #15: Coming Soon: MECHNOIR!

Posted on March 19

If you don't already, be sure to watch my blog at jeremykeller.com, like Technoir on Facebook, follow me on Twitter, and add me to your circles on Google+, because I'll be talking about Mechnoir in those places over the coming weeks.

Here's the details: Mechnoir is an alternative player's guide for Technoir. It will feature six rigs (giant mechanized construction vehicles turned war-machines) and two dropships (flying transports that deploy the rigs) along with some additional rules to use these vehicles in confrontations and a whole new set of Training Programs to make your riggers and pilots. In addition, Mechnoir will also be bundled with three new Transmissions that detail colonies being established on Mars: the harsh landscape where these rigs will roam.

The Mechnoir bundle will be made available to everyone who backed this Kickstarter project. So follow its development as it's in its final playtesting stage, and look for it to drop here soon.

Also...

I want to thank everyone for their patience as shipping out the physical rewards took much more time than I expected. All copies of books, booklets, dice, t-shirts, and hoodies have been shipped out now. If you haven't received your rewards yet, please send me a message here so I can reconcile that ASAP. Thanks again for being such wonderful supporters of Technoir!

With the Mechnoir bundle, that will be distributed as a PDF?

So much yes. BTW: I am quite proud of my SNEAK shirt. It is by far the nerdiest article of clothing I own. "Yeah, this is a shirt I got as a kickstarter bonus for an indie RPG about science-fiction noir. What's that? Why, yes, I actually HAVE touched a girl, why do you ask?"

I joke, of course. My wife really likes Technoir.

It would be really great if we could get another update soon. How are MechNoir, MORE Noir and Hex Noir coming along?

Update #14: Will Hindmarch's Always/Never/Now

Posted on December 1

If you're looking for some more cyberpunk action, check out the new Kickstarter for Always/Never/Now launched by Technoir's editor, Will Hindmarch. It's a thrilling adventure based on Will's longtime campaign and slotted into a modified Lady Blackbird rules set. I talked to Will at length about it when I visited him in Chicago a couple months ago and all I can say is that I am extremely stoked to see the final product.

Update #13: Shipping Update

Posted on October 26, 2011

So a lot of people have started to receive their copies of Technoir and other rewards. It's great to see all the love the game is getting!

If you haven't received your copy and goodies yet, don't panic. I haven't shipped all the packages yet. My shipping operation has encountered a few delays.

• I had ordered padded mailers that were too small for the book (technically you could shove a book into them, but I didn't want to risk bending any corners). But I have new padded mailers now, so we're back in business.

• It's taken longer than I expected to sign copies and fill out customs forms. This mostly a one-person operation. And though I've been fortunate to have some friends help with some of the order packing, no one else can sign your books obviously.

• The house where I live and work was burglarized yesterday. It doesn't look like they took any of the books or Kickstarter rewards fortunately. One ready-to-ship package was torn open and the sheriff's department now has that book as evidence (wouldn't it be cool if they lifted some prints from it?). So I've been spending a lot of time dealing with that since yesterday evening. I hope to get back into the signing/packing/shipping business tomorrow.

I'll be sure to let you know when all the packages are out the door and when you should let me know if you haven't seen yours yet.

As for the milestone rewards, Mechnoir (and a special bonus reward of three Mechnoir-specific Transmissions) is nearly complete. Once I've finished shipping, I'll be able to put the finish those up and get them out. Hexnoir and Morenoir will follow.

Thanks everyone for your continued patience. I know from the Kickstarter projects that I've backed how eager I get for the rewards, so I definitely appreciate how understanding everyone's been. You are the best!

-Jeremy

Same here; doesn't seem like my copy has found its way to me yet...

I've sent all but a few of the remaining packages out earlier this week, and I'll hopefully be able to get the last ones to the post office soon. So hopefully everyone should have their physical copies in the next couple of weeks.

I'm also still waiting for my book - hopefully it will arrive soon.

Update #12: Rewards Shipping!

Posted on October 17, 2011

Good news! Your Kickstarter rewards will be shipping out starting today. There's a lot of signing involved, so the packages will be going out in waves throughout this week. If you haven't filled out the survey to give me your shipping address—or if you've moved and your shipping address has changed—please send me a message with your information immediately.

And if you know anyone who missed out on the Kickstarter and is looking to pick up a print copy of the game, direct them to TechnoirRPG.com and have them click on PREORDER! That's right, I'm starting to take new orders for the print copy of the game. Those will ship out on October 28th (that's after all the Kickstarter backers have received their rewards).

Oh, and if you contributed on the Henchmen level to get a PDF copy of the game and you are now interested in getting your hands on a print copy, contact me here and I'll set you up with a $5 discount on your print copy.

Thanks for all your support and patience. It feels very good to finally be sending off your rewards.

Awesome! I received my shirt and book this morning and it all looks fantastic. Any word on when the other pieces (Mechnoir and such) will fall into place?

Update #11: Status Check

Posted on September 12, 2011

Last week I received the proofs for Technoir

Above is the cover proof. It got a little crumpled up, but still completely functional for checking the colors and placement of the cover.

The two pics above are of the signature proof. It's for making sure the placement of the text on the page, page spreads, and page order are all kosher. They are.

And these are of the laser proof. Its job is to ensure the color and quality of the print is good.

The proofs all looked good. Everything's been approved and sent back to the printer. The order should be printed in a couple of weeks. Add some time for shipping. Then add some more time for me to pack it with your other goodies and ship it to you.

Speaking of other goodies, the Technoir custom dice have come in as well. I have a strong urge to take them out of their bags and roll 'em, but they're staying sealed until the books come in and everything's ready to ship.

The t-shirts and hoodies are all in as well, but I haven't grabbed pictures of those yet. The good news is everything's pretty much ready to go as soon as the books get here.
