Well, never say the KodakKerouacs didn't do anything without a little drama. Only 10 hours left guys! We want to say how appreciative we are of everyone who has already backed us, and we still firmly believe we can get this accomplished before midnight tonight! We're already halfway there. Glass is totally half full.

So if you know anyone who loves film photography, Kerouac, being on the road, freedom, coffee, or America, please tell them about us.

Hey guys, we're coming to the end of the road with our Kickstarter campaign and we're creeping up to the first day ouf our road trip! In preparation we have pulled out our big road map (you know, the kind that's printed on paper) and mapped out all the places and some of the roads we plan to take. I have supplemented this map with a lovely Google map that you can download to your "places" on google (or play around with it here). I've mapped out all our desired destinations so far, but I'll be adding to it as we approach the send-off date. Please give us some input on which places we should/should not visit and let us know if there are some restaurants, coffee shops, book stores, camera stores, or any other kind of venue we might want to check out.

Tomorrow is the last date to donate to our project on Kickstarter. As you may be able to tell, we are still a ways from meeting our goal; but we're not concerned. We understand that the universe likes to wait until the last minute to deliver what you ask for. What we ask you to do is to tell 5 of your friends about our project, and tell them why you donated. Maybe they will tell 5 of their friends and they'll pass it on to 5 of their friends. After all, we're not just trying to raise money on kickstarter, we're also trying to reach out to as many people as possible.

Oh My Universe.

What a week. Game changer, thats for sure.

So much has happened, but it all comes down to one important note. Let go and trust in the Universe.

I tend to have a problem with this. Not with the idea or notion, just with the action. I think its a wonderful philosophy and I try my best to abide by it, but I gotta be honest: It’s hard for me to let go. I like to have control over certain things and the thought of me just letting it all go and trusting in a force I can’t see rattles my bones.

If overanalyzing were a job, baby I’d work overtime every week.

But I have to do it.

Valerie and I are going to go on this journey…this mission.

We are going to take photographs and capture people and places in small town America, and we’re going to share these photographs with the rest of the country. Nay. The rest of the world.
We are going to take great photographs and create a legacy.
We’re going to remind the rest of the country that film photography is not dead, and neither are the people and towns just off the old highways.
We’re going inspire other people that they can live their dreams, no matter how impossible it seems at the time.

The most important thing I’ve learned is that when you have a goal and are true to yourself, then the Universe will provide the means to achieve your goal.

For the first time, I know that this is much bigger than either one of us thought.
Its not about us and what we can get. Its about what we can give back through our photographs.

First we want to thank you all for your support of our project! We've come so far in the last few weeks, and we couldn't have done it without all of you. 

This week is very exciting, because we are moving from a bicoastal project, to a Charlotte-based project. That's right, Mary is (at this very minute) moving from San Raphael, California back to Charlotte, North Carolina. This means a few things for our project. It means that we will be posting more movies to our Youtube channel. It also means that we will be planning our final route for the trip, which you will be able to look at and make suggestions for (expect another update in the next couple days). 

We also want to reach out to you guys through our Facebook page, as well as our Twitter account. We try to be pretty social, and keep all our followers/supporters up to date on everything that happens with the project. We promise not to tweet about every time we get a cup of coffee, we understand that you don't need to be kept THAT up to date. If you like us on Facebook, you will be linked to our new Timeline covers, so you can jazz up your profile. We'll add two to the bottom of this update for you to check out.
