Hello, my name is Jackson Emmer- I am the Director and Catalyst of the "Free is Art" Project, in Brattleboro, Vermont.

The "Free Is Art" project is dedicated to making arts education and arts empowerment available and accessible to low-resource residents of Windham County, VT. We offer music lessons, concerts, and visual-art workshops- all free of charge.

I live in an artistically rich community. However, even with the incredible amount of arts resources available nearby, many people are still falling through the cracks. The schism between the those who have money to engage with the arts, and those who do not, is getting deeper. Simple twists like this are enough to divide a community, neighborhood, city or town.

My goal is to develop a sustainable model for this kind of arts-education environment, and then transfer the framework into more distressed communities. 

Your money will go towards renting space, paying instructors/performers, advertising and simply getting the center open.
