Celebrating our 20th anniversary, Luna is expanding our sprung floor so more kids can dance & create.

Luna Dance Institute is excited about our move to our new forever studio in West Berkeley.  Making CHOREOGRAPHERS is what we do!  For 20 years, Luna has taught children to choreograph & perform in various spaces throughout the East Bay.  It is time for there to be a HOME for young dance makers to create, challenge themselves & show what they can do.  This Kickstarter campaign will help us raise funds to move and expand our sprung-bamboo floor to a pristine, new 1000 square foot dance space for creating, rehearsing, taking and teaching classes.  The floor will be installed by greenbuilder, Michael Myers of Maganda Construction, who did such beautiful work at ODC, San Francisco.  Children will showcase their work in our Summer dance camps & Teen choreography workshops.  See their work, take a free class & celebrate with us at our Fall 2012 Open House.  Donors can get their photos taken then.

    our new space is at 605 addison street near the brand new animal shelter in west berkeley.  we hope you will all visit this fall

  • who will use your new space?

    we're looking forward to the 605 addison building to be THE place for people of ages to find the dance-maker in themselves.  luna's composition-based studio program will expand its offering of classes, including new opportunities for teens, and our family dance classes can expand in our home studio--even while they continue in the spaces of our oakland community partners. adults can explore creative dance for themselves & we're hoping our choreographic colleagues in the east bay will discover their muses by rehearsing in our new home.
