potential defect

Update #32 · Mar 25, 2013 · 4 comments

Hey everyone,

I gave a friend of mine one of the techpod kits. Apparently the factory had packed the wrong size spar connector piece. its #44 in the parts identification page http://hobbyuav.com/2013/03/18/parts-identification/ . it is a 6 inch long 7mm diameter solid carbon fiber rod. my friends kit had only a 2 inch long 7mm rod. This will prove disastrous if used instead of a 6 inch long rod. If you find your kit includes a spar connector that is shorter then 6 inches, please email me ASAP and I will send you the correct piece. Sorry for any inconvenience this causes. I emailed my customer list but I thought I would put it up here as well.

thank you

techpod shipping update

Update #29 · Mar 9, 2013 · 2 comments

so I shipped out 46 kits last Monday. The rest are ready to go out this Monday. I have a shipment to Australia going out next week. Its going by sea to my distributor . (admin@boltrc.com). He will be sending them out from there.

There are a few backers I will be contacting because the address is coming back as bad or I did not receive any shipping info from you yet.

Sorry if ive been a bit slow but I am having a problem or two. One problem was I didn't have all the domes in until this Tuesday. I had been talking with the factory (world models) about making the domes for the kits. they had sent me several samples but they were not good enough. They said they found an outside vendor but at the last minute the guys at the factory said it was not up to snuff. So I had to scramble and come up with some domes. I turned to eztops for the domes. they made the dome i used on the prototype. I wasn't about to settle on anything but the best so I bit the bullet and ordered 200. they hurried to get me the order and now I have enough to satisfy all the orders I have to fill.

second problem I have is I just had surgery  Thursday for a hernia that developed about a month ago. It will be at least a week until I can get to building the ready to fly orders.

when you receive your techpod. you will notice I did not include an instruction manual. I have someone working on a written version but for now you can see Nicks build videos .

the next and final video is the pod video. it should be up in a day or two.

Thanks for your support everyone.

Techpods have landed!

Update #28 · Feb 25, 2013 · 3 comments

The day is finally here. The Techpods have arrived!

Ok so here is the plan. I checked out a random kit and it looks perfect.  I have to go to work in an hour so I am going to start shipping some tomorrow. I have to add a few things to each box like the domes and a few screws etc. I have to work until Thursday. I should be able to get 10 to 15 out each weekday then Friday and Saturday, I will be having work parties with friends coming over to help out in exchange for beer and pizza. Thank you everyone for helping make this happen. I can't wait to see all the cool things you are going to do with your new techpod!

Big thanks to everyone!
