About this project
Welcome, and thank you for visiting our Kickstarter page. We're Red June from Asheville, NC. We're heading into the studio in November to record our second full-length album, and we are asking for your support to make this project possible. Our debut recording, Remember Me Well, was funded by a grant from the North Carolina Arts Council and by your generous contributions.
We have made the exciting but difficult decision to commit our time and energy to managing our own business, to booking shows and touring, and to the process of creating music. In order to do that, we have had to scale back our other careers that have carried us to this point. It's tempting to say that we do this on our own, but we know better. Without you, the work we feel so passionately about cannot come full circle.

What goes into making an album you ask?
Writing and arranging the songs
Recording the album in the studio
Mixing the CD - this is the process of achieving the correct levels and tone for each instrument and voice
Mastering the CD - the final process - making sure the levels are the same across the separate tracks and giving it that “sparkle”
Additional Steps:
Photo shoot and artwork for the CD
CD duplication and packaging
Distribution and mailing
Album publicity
Video promotion
Touring in support of the album
Combine all these steps and the costs add up very quickly. Again, we couldn't bring this project to fruition without your support. THANK YOU!

Red June is a dynamic, acoustic trio from Asheville, NC, performing beautifully distilled Americana music. The Red June sound is as versatile and original as the musicians themselves; they touch on bluegrass, old-time, roots rock, and traditional country music with powerful harmonies, innovative songwriting and expert musicianship. Red June is Will Straughan on dobro, guitar and vocals, fiddler and vocalist Natalya Weinstein, and John Cloyd Miller on mandolin, guitar and vocals.
Their highly anticipated debut album, Remember Me Well (September 2010), was voted #1 in WNCW’s Regional Top 20 Contest, and #31 in their Top 100 of 2010 contest. Remember Me Well also was the #5 album in November 2010 on the national Folk DJ music chart. Remember Me Well was funded, in part, by a Regional Artist Project Grant from the North Carolina Arts Council and the Asheville Area Arts Council.
