Update #11: Pitching at the Dresden film festival.
The pitching of L'Chaim! at the Dresden film festival was very successful, I got a lot of great feedback and some serious offers for financing the film. Let's keep the fingers crossed that the offers become tachles - real. I am working on it.

Update #9: L'Chaim! was chosen for a pitching
Dear Backers,
L'Chaim! was chosen out of over 70 film projects for a pitching at the film
festival in Dresden. 12 film projects will have the chance after a free
pitching workshop to pitch their film to a professional audience.
Who knows maybe I find
a producer or sponsor, who fills the rest of the missing budget
to finish the film.
In the meantime the fund raising continues.
I hope I have more good news in the near future.

A pitch is a concise verbal (and sometimes visual) presentation of an idea for a film or TV series generally made by a director to a producer or studio executive in the hope of attracting finance to pay for the production of the film.

DEAR EVERYONE,
What an intense two months - suspense till the last day!
I cannot thank you all enough for this amazing wave of support, especially in the last days.
To do fund raising for this project via kickstarter and facebook didn’t come natural to me, but thanks to all the people supporting and encouraging me during this time we made the best out of it.
I will thank you all separately soon, in the meantime have a great week, you can be proud of your contribution. You are all partners in creating this film.

Thanks to the generous donations from our new backers. We are 6000$ away from the goal.
If we don't reach the goal till Tuesday we don't get any $ and no credit card will be charged. But it is still possible to get there.

Elkan Spiller grew up in Germany. As a child of Holocaust survivors, he was interested in Jewish history from an early age. He graduated in film and communication from the Berlin “University of the Arts” with a thesis entitled “Antisemitism on German TV”. Since then, he has worked as a freelance journalist for German television (Deutsche Welle, ARD) and produced several short documentaries. He lived and worked in New York, Tel Aviv and the Bay Area around San Francisco for many years. For the last two years Elkan presented his short film "Mama, L’Chaim!" at over 40 film festivals worldwide and received several awards. Currently he spends more time in Europe in order to finish the feature length documentary “L’Chaim!” .
