About this project

Since forming last year, we've had the opportunity to play a lot of really fun shows for great crowds, gotten some really great press, and have bummed out a lot of squares and nerds in the process. One thing that we've yet to accomplish though, is make a record.

At every show, we get asked "when are you guys making a record?" The response is usually "When we have enough money!"

So, by doing this, we hope to raise funds to make a kick-ass punk rock record for our friends and fans in a variety of formats that are way cooler than a CD-R with Sharpie scribbles on it.

We're hoping to raise about $3000, which won't pay for everything, but will be more than enough to get us started.

The money will be spent on the following:

Studio time. Five or six days in a decent studio would be ideal. Plus add in tape fees, blah blah blah. We're looking at maybe as much as two grand here. Maybe more. I'm pretty confident that we can knock out this thing in four or five days, but you never know until the session's over.

A small vinyl pressing: we're looking at 100 LPs to start with, most likely test pressings that will have jackets and labels that are hand-decorated by the band, ala GBV's "Propeller," we're going to make these look as rad as possible because DIY doesn't have to be synonymous with "totally shitty looking."

A small cassette run: we also wanna do a run on cassette. I still have a cassette player in my car, and so do a lot of you, I bet. I still make mix tapes for my friends, and I'd wager quite a few of you do too. It's a fun format. We're a fun band.

Also, we've been talking to Single Piece Slate about making some fun collector type 7" and flexi runs.
