Who We Are

We are writer director Eric Jacobus and his unconventional film crew The Stunt People, and together we are creating a new kind of indie Action feature film called RISE AND FAIL. This will be Eric Jacobus's second contribution to the Action Kickback film movement, and our core mission to breathe life back into the Action film genre.

We've all heard the same criticism: Action today often equals choppy shots and cheesy stories. The sad truth is, as the Action genre grew in its success it developed into a model that, although profitable, left audiences wanting more. At the same time, the rising popularity of televised mixed martial arts has demonstrated that audiences are still hungry for character dramas with awesome fight scenes that they can follow. We believe that just because something is routinely bad by today’s standards, it's not reason to avoid it - it’s reason to improve it!

About The Film

RISE AND FAIL is a revolutionary Action Kickback film that goes beyond today's Action mold. The story follows Kenny Zemacus, who tries to set his life straight and checks his high-functioning autistic brother Mark out of a care home where he's spent the past 15 years since their mother's death. When Kenny reluctantly brings Mark on a last minute museum catering gig that night, Mark unwittingly entangles them in an elaborate heist involving the museum's showpiece - the silver Coin of Judas - and a murderous satanic cult. Kenny and Mark are propelled into the cult's demonic world, where they must fight for their lives and face the depths of their own dark past.

Now as you can imagine, making a feature-length film isn't cheap. And an Action film on an ultra-low budget? Why that's just unheard of! But we are committed to a Spring 2012 release and to delivering you a truly stunning film - both visually and emotionally. So we are going to need all the help we can get to see this thing the rest of the way through.

What We Need

We've set a goal of $10,000, which is the bare minimum amount we need to complete our final stage of post-production and get it released. Although raising funds above this goal would of course only help us produce that much more epic an Action film, and put us that much less into debt. We can also assure you that the funds raised will only go towards actual costs of post-production, including:

• Visual effects
  
• Sound design & ADR
• Music soundtrack
  
• Color correction
• Sound mixing
• E&O (Errors and Omissions) insurance
  
• Deliverable formats (ex. Digi-Beta, PAL, etc)
  
• DVD authoring, printing, etc.

So no matter how much you are able to give, your donation will make a difference. We are determined to finish this film (even if we don't reach our goal), so we will be eternally appreciative of whatever support you can give, and promise you our undying gratitude in return (in addition to the rewards of course)!

What If I've Already Donated?

If you've already contributed to our film, either through the recent IndieGoGo campaign or directly to our Producers, we are already immensely grateful for your support.

But don't worry - you can still give more! The Rewards levels listed here are identical to those offered on our IndieGoGo campaign, so if you do choose to contribute more, we will simply add up your total contribution for the most optimum Rewards.
