Clarendon High School students are partnering with Washington University undergraduate students to transform a community park.

The Clarendon Cleanup is a partnership between ninth graders at Clarendon High School and undergraduate students at Washington University in St. Louis, with additional support from students at the Clinton School of Public Service. A group of Clarendon students identified a currently dilapidated park as an opportunity to improve their community by transforming it into a positive place for kids to play. In three weeks, students from Washington University and the Clinton School will help the high schoolers carry our their vision. Specifically, we will be painting a new mural on the side of a warehouse adjacent to the park.

In addition to the park renovation, we look to establish mentoring relationships with the Clarendon students that encourage achievement in the classroom as well as the community. We will build time into our weekend to establish these relationships as well as answer Clarendon students' questions about college.

In order for this trip to be a reality, we need your help. We are seeking funding to cover the costs of equipment such as paint and tools. Any help toward this end is greatly appreciated.
