"Whatever You Think is Best" is an aerial duet performed on the low-flying trapeze by Summer Baldwin and Kirstin Dahmer.
Whatever You Think is Best, a duet for two dancers and two low flying trapezes, is a new work choreographed by Summer Baldwin and performed by Baldwin and Kirstin Dahmer. Classic Hollywood film music accompanies the dancers as they snatch each other's faces, swoon luxuriously and hover over the dance floor. In Whatever You Think is Best the audience is seated among the flying to create a delightful yet sometimes troublesome experience.
Summer Baldwin is currently raising $250 to cover the cost of documenting and editing the premiere performance of Whatever You Think is Best by filmmaker Eri Yokoyama. Upon completion of this project, Summer will submit this video to presenters, funders and dance festivals in the US and abroad. Summer and Eri collaborated for the first time this past summer on Eri’s Dance in 59 Seconds, a series of short dance films highlighting 10 NYC dancers. The above video clip is an excerpt of Summer’s contribution to the project. Additionally, funds are needed to pay performer Kirstin Dahmer, and to cover the cost of rehearsal space rental in NYC.
Whatever You Think is Best will premiere December 17, 2011 at Soundance Studio in Brooklyn, NY. Please visit our Facebook event page or website to learn more about this performance. All donations are greatly appreciated! Those donating $100 or more will receive a complimentary copy of the final DVD.
