Real stories, real families. This mini-documentary series will tell the stories of those who have chosen to adopt rescue dogs.
In 2010, Creative Liquid produced the short documentary Lucky Dog, chronicling the struggle to find forever homes for thousands of stray dogs in the Washington, DC metro area. Lucky Dog has been honored with two Telly Awards, Communicator Awards and was an official selection of the Alexandria Film Festival. Now we're planning the next chapter. Our goal is to tell the success stories. We want to hear from the families who lives have been forever changed by the decision to adopt. There are millions of homeless dogs in the United States, we plan to tell the stories of a handful of people who have given homeless animals a happy ending.
This project is currently in pre-production and we plan on production to commence in June 2012. We expect the first video to be completed in July 2012, with additional videos completed in August and September. Each piece will run approximately 3-5 minutes and comprise of video shot on-location with families who have adopted from Lucky Dog Animal Rescue. The goal is to inform others considering adoption on the benefits and good they are doing for the community.
The production will include identifying Lucky Dog success stories, scheduling interviews and on-location shoots, post-production editing, graphic design and story creation. Your investment will be used to cover production costs, crew travel, and overall hard costs of the project.
