The year 2012 is a big milestone in Mestre Panão's capoeira life, as it marks the year of his 30th capoeira anniversary. This will need to be celebrated and many Mestres, Contra-Mestres, Professors, and Instructors are being invited from all over the world to be a part of the graduation ceremony planned for the Richmond capoeira students. It is anticipated that more than 400 capoeristas will join us to celebrate this unique, colorful, and exciting event.  Our past conventions in Richmond have gained great interest from participants all around the US, as well as from other groups outside the nation.  The size of the event has increased more than three times since the first Richmond Capoeira Batizado was held in 2006.  Each year we continue to strive to improve and expand our convention, the performances, and what we can offer to our visitors.  However, as the 7th Richmond Capoeira Batizado is a non-profit event, we depend soley on our own fund-raising in the form of shows, car washes, yard sales, and first and foremost, on the generosity of our sponsors!
