We've done it! Thanks to YOU!
Dear Friends-
It's mere hours now until Jaime, Dan and myself head to the airport for our flight to Edinburgh! I'm sitting on my bed- here in good old Philadelphia- as I type this- starring at my mound of luggage and checking and re-checking everything- wondering what I've forgotten! ;) I know that I speak for both Dan and Jaime as well when I say that we are overwhelmed by your support, your kindness, your friendship. Our kickstarter was more than 100% successful and thanks to you- we'll also receive the Wyncote Foundation Matching Grant. The fundraising is done, the packing is done (well except for the pair of jeans that I want to take with me which are still in the dryer at the moment), the stories are written, edited, and rehearsed. My out of office message at the Brind School will go on at 2pm today. We have passports, and welcome letters, and an empty performance space waiting for us on the other side of the world. And we have all of this- and so much more- because of you. We are rich with friends- and we'll never be able to thank you enough. And now I'm starting to cry- so I'll end by saying that we are SO EXCITED! And that if you haven't had a chance to check out the Edinburgh Fringe Festival website (www.edfringe.com) you should- they have a really cool welcome video that really gives a flavor of what we're off to experience. And don't worry- we'll be in touch- with lots of pictures and links- keeping you posted every step of the way!
