We will be screening the WORLD PREMIERE of our feature length documentary film at the Newport Beach Film Festival (NBFF) on May 3, 2011. Help us raise money to promote our film so that we can secure distribution and sell our documentary. This is our first film festival in the circuit and also our screening debut to the world so we want to go BIG . . . at least by indie film standards.
In addition to the required costs of creating high grade tapes for the festival screening along with travel and hotel expenses (which we've already tacked on to our monthly pay-back-in-full Am Ex card:$) there are the additional costs that are necessary to make sure our film gets noticed at NBFF by those who might buy and distribute it.
How do we do this? Why do we need money?
- Fortune has graced us with Wendt Gallery and it's owners, Joseph and Serina Manqueros. We will be exhibiting Frank Mason's original oil paintings on Sunday, May 1st at this beautiful gallery space in Laguna Beach, only 20 minutes south of Newport Beach. We would like to share the cost in advertising this exhibition so that we can build momentum for our film screening on May 3rd. Wendt Gallery
- We will distribute postcards highlighting our festival and art reception to local venues, coffee shops and art schools. Although the printers cost money, we have a number of volunteers who will be passing them out for free (thanks Jared, Pete, Dave's friends and others!) We'll be incorporating the MobiTag below to allow people to scan that section of our postcard with their smart phones and link directly to our website without typing in our web address! http://gettag.mobi
- Sonny Quinn and Scott Mason will be guests on a local non-profit radio station (KOCI 101.5FM) on the weekend of April 30th/ May1st. We would like to support KOCI through a modest donation. Stay tuned for the date & time we will be on the air! KOCI 101.5FM
- It's imperative to have a plethora of DVD copies of our film to hand out to film reps and interested parties who will be instrumental in helping us distribute our film. We will also display movie posters outside of our theater screening. The poster design will look something like this below.
- We've committed to placing an attractive ad for our movie in the official OCWeekly film catalog (the above project image) Placement in the catalog is designed to attract film representatives, journalists and the greater public to our film. We are also interested in placing advertisements in other trade magazines, such as Variety, which have fast approaching deadlines for ad submission. OC Weekly
- Although Sonny Quinn and Scott Mason receive filmmaker passes for the entire festival, we'll need additional passes for our publicist and marketing manager who will allow us to have double the presence at industry meet ups throughout the festival. Newport Beach Film Festival 2011

Before co-founding the production company, Maestro Film Partners, LLC, W. Scott Mason started his career as a classical style painter and journalist. Through ten years of experience as an investigative journalist, gallery curator and administrator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Mason gained the inside knowledge to help Sonny Quinn produce a feature length documentary film based upon the practices he observed while on the inside. Through critical writing and art education Mason dedicates his life to preserving our collective cultural patrimony. As a fine art advisor and agent, Mason continues to stimulate interest and raise awareness for the studies and practices of traditional art.
