Giraffe has lived at my house for almost four years now. My family finds him very charming, quiet and well mannered. He has a wonderful story to tell and would like to share it with as many people as possible.. Please help us print his story!
THE CRAFTER: I am a writer-turned-crafter who is returning to writing. I own Yellow Horse Art Studio, LLC and hand-craft one-of-a-kind stuffed animals from patterns I create myself. I wrote and illustrated Giraffe's story four years ago for my son (before I spent my days crafting plushies) . Since It would take a long time to handcraft each of these books, I would like your help to get his story published. I love to watch kids smile and read - this story does both.
THE STORY: Giraffe's story is one that we all know. It's a story about feeling plain. It's a story about finding the pieces that really make us ourselves. For better or worse, it's often accidents that give us our spots. Giraffe's story has simple read-aloud text. It's quiet but funny - a perfect story to cuddle up and read together.
THE PICTURES: I have hand-drawn all the pictures for Giraffe's story. They are sketched out in pencil and will be overlaid in ink and bright watercolor. No fancy computer work here, just plain old eraser shavings and messy paint. If you would like to follow our work or get sneak peaks of some of the artwork, you can check out my blog!
THE FUNDS: The funds that you help raise from this Kickstarter project will go towards final setup, page layout, legal fees and distribution of Giraffe's story. They will also cover the cost of printing our first copies and getting them out to all of YOU, my wonderful backers! The more money we raise, the more copies we will print and the more we will invest in distribution and marketing of Giraffe's story. He's very friendly, and would like share his story with as many people as possible.
