Hello backers!!!

Sorry that it's been so long since the last video! Here is the latest piece, Glitz, Glam & GlossGlossGloss. We began rehearsing this piece in August, performed it live and have adapted and reworked it for film. 

This piece originated by looking at and replicating the spreads in Elle magazine’s September Issue 2012. The models have such unnatural and stylized poses and they always have this incredible ownership of what they're doing. We wanted to embody them, in both style and demeanor. After stringing these poses together into movement, and adding a sprinkle of jazziness and groove, the dance developed to become a sleek and sassy take on owning your looks and rockin' them!

And here is a video that I did last month during the looming foggy nights that swept over Seattle. The inspiration came about on a walk home one day, after having a film noir marathon. There was soooo much fog in the streets that week, and we just had to take advantage. (funny story: even though it was incredibly foggy, the shot that we ended up using for the film was in the back of an apartment, and the fog that you see moving around is actually steam from the laundry room....)

It was wonderful working on this dance. Thanks to our great camera equipment, amazing cast and wonderful costumes, we were able to put this fun and celebratory piece together.

We did it! We have met and surpassed the fundraising goal! With three days to go! The DeadPan Monkeys will now have enough money to get these projects on a roll! Thank you so much to each of you who hashelped make this possible. You are all amazing!

"After the Storm" is the third section of a larger piece that I choreographed this spring called Returning Again. After restaging it from a larger cast into a duet, we set out to find a good park location and then shot some footage of the dance. This filming
experience was a good trial run. It gave me a better understanding of how to prepare for film days and what types of on-set issues will come up. Jason also got some good practice with filming and editing, and is excited to up the production value for the next films! All in all, we learned a lot and I cannot wait to work on the next dance!

Hallo hallo!

Thank you all for everything you've done, via pledging and sharing with your friends. Thanks to each of you, there's been huge progress on the fundraising so far!

We are halfway through the duration of the fundraiser, but already 74% to our goal! I'm so happy and excited to see the progress that's been made. :) 

But...we're not done yet...In order for the DeadPan Monkeys to get any of the funds that have been pledged, we have to meet the goal we've set of $1,000. So please keep spreading the news and posting on your profiles about the project. $258 away! So close!

Hi Everyone!

It has been a little over a day since I launched my Kickstarter campaign... and we are already 43% towards meeting the goal of 1,000! Yay! 

A heartfelt thanks goes to each of you for being amazing and helping me get this project off to a phenomenal start! 

Rehearsals have started! Ideas are brewing! Dancers are dancing! 

We're also currently editing and putting the final touches on a short trial video of one of my dances...and I will be sending that out to you all in a few days.
