Update #4: Success (Thank You!)

Posted on November 30, 2009

Dear PieLab Backers,

We can't thank you enough for your donations! With your help, we were able to reach our goal of $10,000!!!

We sincerely apologize for the delay of this message, but the PieLab crew was busy working away to prepare for our Grand Opening. The celebration took place this past Saturday, November 28, and was a huge success! We had an amazing turnout with lots of great pie, great conversation, and great live music. We are working to upload photos to our flickr that you will soon be able to find here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/1220257@N24/
The rewards for your generous donations will be mailed to you shortly. Thanks again!

Update #2: New Video & Construction Update

Posted on October 14, 2009

Thanks again to everyone who has donated so far! We are happy to see that the donations are still coming in.

We are getting closer and closer to our deadline, but also are getting much closer to our goal! PieLab construction is coming to a close and we are all excited to unveil the storefront soon.

Thanks to Daniel Stephens, Brooke Brewer, and Amanda Buck for our new video further illustrating the effect we have had on the community of Greensboro and where we hope to take PieLab in the future.

Please continue to tell your friends and family about us and our project on Kickstarter.

What John does best is help organizations find the courage and the sense of humor to consider whole new "wrong" ways of bringing their stories, ideas, and innovations out into the world.

John feels so strongly about the value of thinking wrong that he created a program called Project M that is designed to inspire and educate young designers, writers, photographers and filmmakers by proving that their work—especially their wrongest thinking—can have a positive and significant impact on the world. Project M has developed projects to help a conservation area in Costa Rica, Micro-financing in Ghana, New Orleans after Katrina, the communities of East Baltimore, Detroit, Rural Connecticut and Iceland, and connecting households to fresh water in Hale County Alabama.
