About this project

ABOUT THE PROJECT
We have an amazing opportunity to take Pandemic Gallery GLOBAL, by participating in City Art KonT'ner this October in PARIS, FRANCE!! (http://city-art-kontner.com/) It is a contemporary urban art event which is an outdoor art fair specializing in street art. With a location you can't miss, Paris Rive Gauche, at the foot of the French National Library. This is happening alongside the notorious FIAC international art fair in the heart of Paris!

A PANDEMIC is generally considered to be a global catastrophe, but with the gallery we are attempting to put a positive spin on the word, spreading this unique form of art to wherever we can reach and representing NYC street art around the globe. NOW IS OUR CHANCE!!! This will be a great platform to get international exposure for our radical slew of artists, as well as recognition for our gallery and NYC.

We just need your help with the funding of $7,500 to help us pay for the rent of the container. With any extra funds we will be able to get ourselves and our artwork to Paris. We would also love to be able to take ALL the artist with us!!!

THE EXHIBITION ("Rabid RIOT!")
We have an incredible idea for a group show to take to Paris. It celebrates 16 of the most talented NYC street artists. The show is called "Rabid RIOT" the concept behind this is an extension of our very successful "Stokenphobia" (the fear of circles) exhibition (http://www.flickr.com/photos/pandemicgallery/sets/72157623502369445/ ). Where each artist was given large circular metal road signs to paint. The show was comically intended to make the audience confront this absurd fear. But mainly what it did was provide the artist and viewer an amazing and unforgettable event..

That is why we would like to encore and evolve this idea/concept in Paris! Each artist will be given 2-3 pieces of EACH size rectangular metal street sign, ranging in size from 4" x 8" to 30" x 36". We plan to FILL the container with an abundance of original hand painted/printed/wheat pasted/spray painted/stenciled one of a kind work of art that is created on a surface commonly used on the street.
The metal plates will then be hung inside the container in descending size from floor to ceiling. These works will be showcased for the duration of the art fair, and remaining pieces will be installed on the street, leaving our mark on Paris!

Artists include: ARMER, BUILDMORE, CELSO, DARKCLOUD, DEUCE SEVEN, JUDITH SUPINE, KEELY, KENJI NAKAYAMA, MATT SIREN, ROYCE BANNON, STIKMAN, SWAMPY, UR NEW YORK, VENG, WRONA

ABOUT PANDEMIC GALLERY
Founded in 2009 the mission of PANDEMIC has always been to show and support the NYC street art scene. We are an artist run organization that is dedicated to showing art from up and coming, unknown and established artists. The gallery is a labor of love and devotion so to speak because we pay for everything out of our own pockets and what money we do make goes right back into paying rent or general up-keep of the space. But we continue to believe that the most fresh and exciting work that is being produced right now is happening right before your eyes on the streets of your city and we will do everything possible to support and showcase this art revolution!

THE MONEY RAISED WILL GO TOWARDS
- Rent of the container
- Supplies/metal signs, hardware, lighting, paint etc.
- Shipping the artwork
- Airfare and lodging

Now is your chance to be part of it all!! Small pledges, monster pledges whatever you can give give will help us tremendously! We have something unique and we want to represent NYC in PARIS!! Please help!
