What Is It: The Last Night of Service at Chez Gourmet is performance piece and pop up restaurant about dinner, dancing and death that blurs the line between reality and performance. With the audience being served the same food as the actors, the viewers will be fully immersed inside the piece.
Goal: Our goal is to take the cultural practice of going out to eat beyond the typical experience by elevating both the food and service to new artistic levels.
Why We Need Help: Putting on a performance and launching a pop up restaurant are both incredibly daunting & expensive endeavors. The money raised here will go to renting a space, building a restaurant, recipe testing, paying dancers, paying a chef and the list goes on. This is a project of passion, so we need everyone's help & support to make it happen.
Who & Story: Darin Bresnitz’s play about three couples experiencing the last night of a restaurant will combine both dance performance and a four course meal cooked by a well known chef.
Choreographed by Celia Rowlson-Hall & Produced by Jaimie Mayer Phinney, their experience will further the performance beyond the typical evening out of dining and into a night that everyone will be talking about.
