I am building a tripod to hold our 55 gallon barrel size pinhole cameras to photograph the art of Burning Man.
I am part of the Pinhole Project at Burning Man. We photograph the art at Burning Man using pinhole cameras the size of 55 gal barrels. I am building a tripod to hold the cameras that was inspired from a ski lift tower pulley. I have been throwing around ways to hold our cameras, but traditional designs did not suit the need. I am building two spoked wheels with an axel between the two - the lift tower pulleys are the hubs of the wheel. The cameras can be attached to the the wheels and allow rotation of the cameras in two different planes. As I write, I am finalizing the drawings for the CNC plasma cutter and will start production this weekend. I am an architect by trade and have a good skill set to pull this off. Thanks for your support. Below are some images of the design.
