A new magazine of poetry and art.
We're launching Staging Ground, a biannual poetry and art magazine.
We want our magazine to be a site where culture comes together for a short celebration, kind of like what would happen at a staging ground. This idea will inspire our collections in the magazine and collaborations in events that spring up around it, whether chapbooks, drama events, art events or otherwise.
For our first issue, we're excited to have the following contributors: the poets LS Asekoff, Michael Basinski, Emily Beall, Alex Cuff, Pam Dick, Lisa Jarnot, Travis Macdonald, Joanna Sondheim, Michelle Taransky and Lewis Warsh; as well as the photographers Nic Mah and Dan Wonderly; and the painter Scott Belcastro.
Staging Ground will be 48 pages of text and art: 36 pages of poetry, 12 pages of art. It's going to be 8.5 by 7 inches, and we're aiming for a print quality that everyone can be happy with--even picky photographers!
