About this project
This project is intended to change lives by providing an alternative to the way modern rap music has influenced our culture. Kids nowadays listen to a negative message from birth; the music they here is all about sex, drugs, money, girls, and cars...this project is geared to change that.
By presenting the truth of God's Word this album is meant to inspire lives to change, and to follow Jesus for who He really is, the Savior and Son of God. Only God can fix the problems we see in our culture: premarital sex with kids contracting HIV, teen pregnancies and abortions, broken families looking for healing in substance abuse, and an all out disrespect for the Creator.
Overcomin is a testimony of a young man (me) who went the wrong way, all to find that there is one way to truth. Through Jesus Christ and faith in Him as God. Ever since the grace of God has been guiding me, and He has been changing more lives than mine.
I plan to let God heal those who hear my music, and I believe He has blessed the music to serve as a tool to lead listeners the right way.
The album will have around 15 songs on it, and is turning out great! Every song is turning out solid, and we're exited to hear our results!
The majority of the album is complete, we just need to finalize the sound of the music by "mastering" it, and order the Discs. We (my producer Jordan "Stonehouse," and I) really need around 1,000 to 2,000 more dollars in order to complete this project professionally. We still have to pay the Graphic Designer for the Album Artwork, get a good mastering job done, and order the CDs. With any extra money we would love to buy t-shirts and posters for fans to have after shows, but first priority is the Cd order. The message of the music cannot be heard if the CD's are not printed.
This project is one that is intended for the community. Last year a young boy named Evan died in a car accident in Wayland, MI. I wrote a song about it that has really been used to help that specific community. This song is on that album, and it would be a blessing to be able to bless that community with a professional CD with their memorable song on it (not just a cheap download on a burnt disc). There is a constant theme that teaches that when giving is done from the heart, and not for selfish purposes, the giver is rewarded by God because he/she did not give merely for the approval of his/her peers or because of selfish motive. The back of the shirt is meant to display the intent of the gift, and shows where the giver's true reward is, with God. But still...owning 1 of 10 T-shirts in the world is still pretty cool right?

Alright so here's the deal, I'm a rapper okay. I deal with crazy looks from people all the time when it comes up in conversation that I'm a Hip Hop artist, especially when I'm not wearing some kind of "rapper hat." Maybe it's just because if I look like I should be doing country music instead of Hip Hop; I'm not quite sure, but it's pretty funny.
Another thing you may want to know about me is that I love Jesus and want to make His name known. During the past couple years I have been touring regionally, serving at my church "The Edge Urban Fellowship" (a Hip Hop church in Grand Rapids), and getting married! My wife and I just had our 1st year anniversary on February 4th, 2012!!! Marriage is really great!!!
As far as my discography goes, in 2010 I released my debut album entitled Overcomin'. In August of '11 I did my first music video (also a single) called "Soon." You can check it out on YouTube among a collection of other things I've done. I have also been blessed to perform with some major Christian Hip Hop artists such as: Lecrae, Trip Lee, Flame, D-Maub and more.
I see God working through my music and concerts and want to make his name known. I also am on the worship team at my church and we often lead worship on Sunday morning's at other churches. So if you ever want to experience worshiping God in a new way, or learn about evangelism in the hip hop culture, feel free to contact us.
I plan on finishing this project and releasing it sometime in June. I will follow through on the rewards listed above as well.
