More than a year after Japan's Tohoku Earthquake and tsunami, five different survivors tell their stories. Image by dareppi via Flickr
When you think back to the March 11th, 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami in Japan, the Fukushima nuclear power plant is probably one of the first things you think of. And that makes sense. The nuclear disaster posed a threat to the whole world, and it topped the headlines for months.
But the tsunami killed far more people than the nuclear disaster. Thousands of people were displaced, left without a home, possessions, family. What was it like to be one of those people? How did they spend the last year and a half Are they okay now?
This is a story of five lives and how they've changed since the massive waves wiped everything out on March 11, 2011.
The final video will be published by the Common Language Project (www.clpmag.org). This project is being supported by the University of Washington's Department of Communication and the Common Language Project, but I need your help to get there! Your support will help cover the costs of travel and production in the summer of 2012.
