Update #2: SSUSA CUP

Posted on August 9, 2010

Dear All,

I hope this message finds everyone in good health and enjoying this summer weather!

I just wanted to send you a quick update on the amazing weekend in DC for the Homeless US Cup.
My documentary crew and the NYC team had a tremendously successful trip to the SSUSA Cup. Two players on the team, TK and Onicia, made the SSUSA National men and women’s team traveling to Brazil for the Homeless World Cup! At the cup. the NYC team did not win any trophies and our teams lost more games then they won, but the team spirit and support was something that they should all be proud of.

Check out this great article in the nytimes about the Cup and one of the NYC players, TK.

Now that I have finished principle photography, I will be editing all fall. I will continue to send you all any updates on the film. And I hope you look forward to receiving your pledge rewards! Thanks to all.

Best,
Suzannah

Suzannah! Thank you so much for giving us this update. I just donated a small $10 BUT I'm a filmmaker/producer too. I know how important it is to support these projects. I love this story and I love New York. The best of luck to you and your project!!!

We are about to launch a kickstarter fundraising project for 1 in 3, a feature length drama about domestic violence. If you can help us spread the word about our project when we launch it that would be amazing!!!

Update #1: Home Game Update

Posted on July 29, 2010

Dear Home Game Friend,

Tomorrow morning my crew and I are headed to D.C. to film the NYC team play in the Street Soccer USA national tournament. This really couldn't have happened without your generous support. We are so excited! I know it's going to be a great experience for us all, especially for the team.

I also have some good news to report. A film I made last year won the Audience Award for Best Documentary at last week's Manhattan Film Festival. It's called Central Park: the Park at the Center of the World. Next it will screen at the Anthology Film Archive in a NewFilmmakers documentary series on Aug. 4th, at 6:00pm . For more info, go to http://www.newfilmmakers.com/. Please check it out if you can!

Keep your fingers crossed for the HOME GAME Team. I'll let you know how they fare in the tournament. Thanks again for your support.

All the best,
Suzannah Herbert

My family and I are in DC this week on vacation. Can you give me some details about the tournament? Maybe we can come see a game.

      Thanks, Jamie
