After the wrap-up of Jared Mahone’s Mixtape Project (his year-long creative experiment to write, record and release a song every week), the full band is now ready to get into the recording studio to fill out the sounds of those fan-favorite demo releases and make a new album.
Jared Mahone is independent of any music label or restrictive contract so we are able to create music for the crowd of people who choose to follow what we do. But, that also means we are independent of label funding. So, we are looking forward to recording this album, but we can’t do it without your support!
When you donate to our Kickstarter campaign to create a crowd-funded album, you are making the dream of the listener-influenced album a reality. Not only will you become a part of our music community, but we would like to thank you with special incentives at each giving level.
Everyone who donates at least $20 will receive a membership to The Mixtape Project, including all of the song downloads, videos, journal entries and more, as well as a digital copy of the new album. Once you become a member of The Mixtape Project, you will receive personal messages from Jared and be the first to know about where the band is headed next. Mixtape subscribers are our closet network of friends, and we would love for you to be a part of it.

The Mixtape Project is Jared Mahone's 52-week song writing experiment. During 2010, Jared kept an online journal where he attempted to post a song every week, along with videos, commentary, and lots of personal stories behind the creation of each original track. The Mixtape Project was fueled by the community of people who interacted with Jared on a weekly basis to give feedback as each song was released. The complete catalog of songs is still available to download by pledging $20 or more to this campaign.

We are not greedy, people. We have specific recording expenses, and we don't want to ask for more than that. But, if you would like to donate even after we reach our goal, we would have the means to make the album that much better.

We can't give out incentives until we have reached our goal. We have put a 65 day run on this campaign to make sure we do just that. So, expect to hear about your personal incentive the week after this Kickstarter campaign ends.

We are getting started on this project as soon as possible to get your album out as soon as possible. We are trusting that you all will come through with the pledges. Even though we are paying for some of the expenses before we receive the funding, believe me, we will not be able to finish without your help, so give what you can.
