The Gears are Turning!
Greetings and hello! First, let us say, once again: thank you to all of our supporters! We're so excited to craft these documentaries, and we're able to do it thanks to you.
Now for the progress update!
If you didn't already find out via a postcard in the mail, the subject of the 3rd documentary has been chosen. Forty-two different agencies were nominated; fourteen of those agencies received more than one vote. The hands-down winner? The National Park Service!
We're not sure exactly what angle we're going to take on any of the films yet, but we've begun exploratory research and interviews. Just last week, Dina, Cassy, and Jenna spoke with 91-year-old WWII Army veteran Bob Kantor. It was a great conversation; Bob had a lot of interesting things to say about the Veterans Administration, and we look forward to using the information and stories he shared.
In other news, an article was written on the project! In June, Amanda and Dina spoke with a reporter from Government Technology and were able to elaborate on the Kickstarter fundraiser and the overall project goals. You can check out the article for yourself here: http://www.govtech.com/education/Kickstarter-Fosters-Love-Government.html.
The rewards are also ticking right along! Jenna's been working on the Uncle Sam prints, and we expect to ship them sometime in August. If you're a supporter at the level of that reward and haven't already sent us your address, please be sure to do so so that we can make sure your print gets to the right place.
Thanks again for all of your help and support! We'll keep you posted on our progress. Oh, and if you have any connections with the VA, the Post Office, or the National Park Service, we'd love to hear about them!
Cheers!
Amanda, Cassy, Dina, and Jenna
