Update #9: Happy Holidays; and our film has a trailer!
Dear Kickstarter friends (and apologies if you are receiving this for the second time),
You have given so generously to our feature film, SMALL, BEAUTIFULLY MOVING PARTS. Thank you thank you thank you!
We are writing to share a small fruit of the labor, the film's TRAILER.
You'll notice there's a prominent DONATE button at the top .... well, our reality is that we have a pretty heavy LIFT to the finish line. (We are now in sound design with lots of big finishing expenses to go -- but very excited to get this one in to the world -- we're very happy with the film.)
What could be a more perfect holiday gift than a donation to independent film for the young artist in your life? You can 'gift' the special thanks credit to that person, so his/her name appears on the BIG SCREEN, commemorated forever. (Just email us the recipient's name to info@smallbeautifullymovingparts.com.) It's for the arts-lover in the your life for whom you CANNOT find a suitable gift! We'll even throw in a copy of the DVD if you give $25 or more.
Here's the trailer:

Happy Holidays,

Update #8: On to Post Production
Greetings!
We wanted to check in to let you know we are alive and well after our marathon adventure across the West. Our road trip movie itinerary included LA, Santa Barbara, Grand Canyon, Vegas and Arizona ... so needless to say, we were well-traveled.
Post-production has begun on the film, in New York. We've also launched a NEW funding campaign on indieGOGO.com -- a site similar to Kickstarter -- exclusively for post production:
http://www.indiegogo.com/smallbeautifullymovingparts...
Please spread the word if you know anyone who may be interested in learning more about our project.
We have three blog posts up on SundanceChannel.com about our movie:

and an interview with us:
AND ... they've just premiered our web series, SPARKS, which inspired the feature:

If you've just politely tolerated the intolerable number of links provided -- THANK YOU. And thanks for being a part of this with us.
Happy August,
Annie and Lisa
Update #7: What's better than a BEAUTIFUL garden in LOS ANGELES?
Shooting amongst the butterflies, the most refined compost, the most fragrant fertilizer ... Lisa's brother's house in Echo Park made for an AMAZING location .... (Thanks Alex and his roommates!)
In this last still, our actors are prepping their scene in the garden. This image was shot on the actual film camera -- the Canon 7D -- a still camera that shoots gorgeous HD quality footage, as good as some of the most sought after HD cameras out there... and it's tiny.
These stills also include us working inside, a flashback featuring a crazy love-addled couple expressing their deepest emotions ... BEFORE they had a kid.
Today we drive to Santa Barbara to continue the second leg of our road trip.
Update #6: 33 hours to go
Here's the news from the first leg of our trip --- Echo Park, Los Angeles, a great location, great actors, hot sun, shooting in the garden, adrenaline rush, making a movie! Our funding campaign on KS closes Monday at noon so if you're inclined to spread the word about our project, please do.
Update #5: COUNTDOWN
So we are in the midst of the craziness. It's a sea of questions that need answers and lists that need to be shortened. We fly to L.A. on Tuesday and begin on Wednesday, launching our summer shoot sparks adventure. In the meantime, we're excited to report that our lead Anna Margaret Hollyman was featured this month in Film News Briefs. We agree with the writer's assessment: "We were also blown away by the lead actress, Anna Margaret Hollyman."
Sarah Sparks would be ashamed at the length of the url below ... but Annie Howell can't find a way to shorten it. It does work -- so to see Anna Margaret (the last entry on this html email) ... click here and check out the trailer for her recent short film, ADELAIDE.

We want to thank you again for backing our project.

Update #4: We made it!
We made our goal!!
We were thrilled to wake up this morning and see that we made our pledge goal for the film of 8000! We really are so surprised and grateful that this happened so fast. This means we are now guaranteed this money and any extra we may raise from here on out.
Thank you ALL for helping us realize this creative dream. Our shoot starts in two weeks and now we can focus on many other pressing issues… not just the financial ones.
We will still continue to raise funds for the 23 days left on Kickstarter... and anything beyond our goal will go towards the more weighty post-production costs that seemed beyond the scope of this initial fundraising push: including a sound mix, color correction, and titles. So we welcome additional backers to the project!
Again, THANK YOU THANK YOU to everyone.

Update #3: Here we go!
Lisa and I are facing reality: pre-production is truly in FULL SWING.
Yesterday we were jetting around town with our lead, trying on PREGNANCY SUITS. At the same time, who will drive the actors to the set? What are dietary restrictions for the cast? What about story boarding? What reference films are we watching? How many back up drives should we purchase? It's a whirlwind ... but mostly, it's EXCITING. Our shoot has firm dates of July 14-31 --- plane tickets are booked. Pre-Production is real, but production will be ... hyper real.
Update #2: We've fired up the credit cards!
Update #1: Hello and THANK YOU
