Kickstarter

I wanted to write another update when I hit 100 backers, then 150, then 200... but the numbers just keep climbing! Thanks everyone so much for your support, this has been amazing so far. With your help, we've turned an idea that used to be a small curiosity into something that hundreds of people have seen and shared. It's spawned some amazing new ideas about how to take these sculptures further - some from my own musings, some from your messages! Right now I'm working on setting up a company for the sculptures and talking about licensing. I've even had people approach me about commissioned work! None of it would be possible without you.

I've also loved to your feedback, and appreciate it all. I'm happy to announce that I've added a new pledge level where people can purchase a sculpture with the form/function design! For technical reasons I have to charge slightly more for it, unfortunately, but I'm hoping it won't deter too many of you. Some have asked about a work/play option, but I need to see how this works first before I'm comfortable adding more designs.

One question I've gotten a lot is what the new design will be. I still can't say yet, but I do have some ideas I'm working on. Designing will start in the next week, so if you're at the higher pledge levels you'll be hearing from me soon. I'll try to give an idea of the sculpture before the final pledge date, if possible.

Please continue to spread the word! I've been amazed at the response, and it's made my hopes and goals even bigger. I'd expected to do this as a one-time run, but now I'm considering a series of sculptures and expanding my abilities. (To those of you asking, yes, that could mean some sculptures with three images instead of just two.) I'm even looking at computerizing the process, so I could make custom designs quickly and easily with a program. That's just a dream for now, though, we'll see what happens there.
