What happens next for The Prizery & Summer Theatre Celebration 2012? Check Out This Video for More Information
Our goal is to raise $25,000 to help underwrite Summer Theatre Celebration 2012 at The Prizery in South Boston, VA. With budget cuts for the coming year, our summer season is in jeopardy. This additional underwriting will make possible for 25 professional performers to come to our small southern town for 3 musicals, providing great entertainment but more importantly a wonderful opportunity for our local theatre students to be mentored by the professional performers. We plan to produce, Cinderella, The Color Purple, and Hairspray. For the last two summers we have provided this opportunity and we are eager to continue to create wonderful theatre in our space. It is also a great opportunity for young theatre professionals.

An important element to Summer Theatre Celebration is the level of talent within the professional company. In order to provide the children with the best mentors possible, The Prizery attends regional theatre festivals like SETC to find spectacular new talent. Many of our past company members have gone on to receive professional contracts all over the country.

Jesse Graham from the 1st Summer Theatre Celebration was cast in the National Tour of My Fair Lady.
Joseph Rosko will star in Sight and Sounds Theatre's new production of "JOSEPH" in Branson MO opening April 2012.
Elizabeth Telford participated in both Summer Theatre Celebrations and was hired by the Milwaukee Repertory Theater following Summer 2011.
Casi Harris from the 1st Summer Theatre Celebration was hired by the Children's Theatre of Charlotte.
Em Laudeman from the 2nd Summer Theatre Celebration was recently hired by Secret Theatre in NY.
Robby Owenby from the 1st Summer Theatre Celebration was hired by Florida Repertory Theatre in September 2011.
Chris Lewis participated in both Summer Theatre Celebrations and was hired by Atlanta's Stone Mountain Park, Theatre of the Stars, and Lyric Theatre following Summer 2011.
