About this project
It is a big art project I only began to create. It is number of paintings (some of them you may see at http://www.zn-enterprises.com/gallery.html ) But I need more art materials (canvases, paints, even brushes, and I need to order professional photos to order). I'm working with big canvases, and they are not cheap. I already cannot to continue my work.
"Metaphysical Archaeology" is a project dedicated to the world mythology, culture, my personal spiritual experience. I think this project could be important not only to myself but for many people.
Art is important, and I work honest and hard to give people some beauty, sense, spirit, and hope that the world we are living in is great and we only can ( and have) to make it better.
Thank you!
Kind regards,
Olga Zalogina

A native Russian, I was born in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). I received an M.A. from the Herzen Pedagogical Institute (now the St. Petersburg Pedagogical University).
In addition to exhibitions in St. Petersburg, I also sold a number of paintings and pen and ink drawings through private referrals to collectors from St. Petersburg, Moscow, London, Toronto, and New York.
I am also the author of three volumes of poetry published in St. Petersburg and Seattle.
Since immigrating to the United States in December, 2004, I have lived and worked in Seattle.

Artist statement
I could paraphrase Gertrude Stein and say, ironically, that “An artist is an artist is an artist.” Or I could, with great pathos, say, “I am a Russian artist.” But I’d say more simply and less pretentiously that “Art has to bring beauty.” That Beauty could be tragical or not, but always gives people joy and a possibility for their souls to be more human. That is all I wish to say about Art. The rest is the business of art critics.
