The free Kenton Park Summer Concert Series is funded entirely by community donations & organized by volunteers with the support of PP&R
Every summer, Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) works with local community volunteers to stage free summer concerts at neighborhood parks throughout Portland. Each neighborhood that takes part in the summer concert series is responsible for raising the funds necessary -- to pay performer fees and cover other expenses, such as equipment and sound engineers. Your contribution will help ensure that the concert series returns to Kenton Park this year in the re-emerging and vibrant Kenton neighborhood.
2012 is the sixth year of concerts in Kenton Park, and we need support from our friends and neighbors to make these concerts happen! Major sponsors are still hard to find due to the economy; but now, more than ever, our neighborhood needs events like concerts in the parks – free, family-friendly entertainment that allows us to enjoy the summer, our neighbors, and our park.
Kenton Park Summer Concerts are a great family and neighborhood event, with local vendors on-site and within 1 block for your food and beverage needs. Or, bring a picnic (alcohol is allowed at the summer concerts)! These are easy-going, family-friendly events, with 400 – 700 people at each concert – people of all ages, familiar faces from the neighborhood and new friends from all over the city.
WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT.
