Raising funds to print 10,000 free promotional comics in order to increase awareness & readership of our grindhouse graphic novel, AKA.
THE MISSION:
Being an independent comic creator and publisher is difficult. In this market projects like our's, despite having a previous successful Kickstarter campaign to pay our colorist and letterer, tend to get buried under the popularity of mainstream & established superhero books.
It is our hope to raise the necessary funds to produce 10,000 FREE promotional comics with a story that predates our graphic novel, AKA, in order to increase our readership.
The plan is to have this 8 page prequel, along with an advert for the trade, be distributed to indie-friendly retailers and given out to potential comic readers.
However, we are offering (among other things) exclusive variant covers for our backers by such great talents as Mike Hawthorne, Mike Oeming and Taki Soma.
WHAT IF YOU MEET YOUR GOAL?
Steve and I are hoping that those funds will help recoup our costs for the printing of AKA (GN) which we have yet to make back. However with that being said, we want to reward our backers with more AKA goodness. So the more money we raise the more we'll add on:

Once this campaign is over and hopefully raising the necessary funds, it will take roughly 30 days for the prequel comic to be produced. This time will include the proofing process and delivery to our doorstep in order to get every backer's package together. Our colorist is already working on coloring the individual pages as well as a deadline has been placed for our variant covers to be illustrated.
In addition, the sketchbooks and graphic novels are already completed and ready for shipment.
Much like our first Kickstarter campaign (over 50 updates), I will constantly keep you updated and informed on the progress of the project. With that being said, in the event of any unforeseeable delays (with printing or production of any additional unlockables), we will inform you immediately and hope to have any problems resolved quickly.
I think though, we've proven ourselves on the last Kickstarter campaign without any complaints and plenty of compliments. Thanks again for giving our project a chance!
