Our best fest yet!

Just as we've done for the past 13 years, we're going to share with you the best films that Mississippi and the South--and even those non-indigenous regions of the world that talk funny--have to offer. And we're going to have a great time doing it! We're here to celebrate the art of making movies and to tell Hollywood that Mississippi is interested in being a part of that conversation. But we need money to pull it off! In fact, we need YOUR money.

Our selection committee has been slaving over hot DVD players for months now screening movies and filtering out the ones that would turn you into a zombie if you saw them. They've had to do this, so you wouldn't have to! And that has left us with a terrific line-up of home-grown and international movies. It's also left us with a small army of zombies that we will unleash upon the world if we don't get all our funding. You see, we need YOUR money to turn them back to regular human beings.

But your contribution won't just restore the demented folks of the selection committee, it will help cover the very real costs of putting on a festival. We are so grateful for the Jackson community that has given so much in in-kind contributions that will help us with the workshops, the Q&A sessions, the receptions and the parties. But at the end of the day, we still need real cash to pull it all off. We need to raise at the minimum another $7,800 to pay all our expected obligations. Please, let's keep the zombies in the movies where they belong! Contribute to the festival, come watch the movies and let's celebrate movie-making together!
