Project Update:

To the generous souls who got us this far, thank you kindly! If you’re hanging back, waiting to see how things go – now’s the time…

Because Kickstarter is “all or nothing” funding, we cut our budget radically before coming to you. Now, I believe we can exceed our goal and make the record we first imagined – one that has wings. So we need your help!

Friends and Neighbors,

Thanks for checking in! I am very excited about my next project - a group of talented souls is gathering in Nashville to make some great music together. In anticipation of your help, we've begun pre-production and hope to start recording on April 30. 

The cast includes Dewey Boyd Jr. in the role of producer/engineer with engineering assistance form Taylor Bray, Justin March and Erin Kaus. Taylor will also contribute on bass, Justin on drums, and Erin on vocals.

I spent a day recording with these folks last Fall and was amazed at the talent and fluidity they brought to each role and how beautifully they worked together, moving from behind the console to their instruments and back as the moment called for, all with levity and intuitive dialog - a great picture of work and play, rooted in friendship. I can't think of a better context for recording my music.

A handful of other seasoned players will round out the team as we get further into production, and then we'll be on to mixing and mastering with some heavy cats (tba).

The funding goal of $7,000 is for all costs associated with the production and printing of this project, which should be done in time for this year's Fall tour. If you know the recording industry, you know this is a small fraction of most commercial budgets. We made a rigorous plan and a good budget, then cut as much as we could afford to and still make a great record. We hope to exceed our goal and make one that has wings, but this number will surely get the wheels of progress moving.
