A birthday present of Batman issue #614 and #615 reignited a love of comic books and graphic storytelling. It lead to opening a comic book store, which lead to publishing comic books. SpazDog Press is dedicated to publishing the work of up and coming independent comic book creators. After have some success with two Smiths comic anthologies, I decided to work on a comic anthology inspired by the Pixies. Now, I can't turn on the radio without hearing the Pixies "Where is My Mind?". Sometimes, the radio station is actually playing the song.

Right now the only way to pre-order the two retailer exclusive covers is directly through the retailers. CornerStoreComics has their cover available for preorder through their website www.cornerstorecomics.com. Austin Books and Comics has told me that it will be available through their ecommerce site in the next week. I can look into the possibility of consolidating shipping since I will have all the books at one point.

How can we get the exclusive covers from the 2 other comic retailers?
Cath - Thank you so much for your efforts. I emailed every comic book shop in Manchester, London and other cities in the UK. Unfortunately, I have had similar response from the shops in the US, even from shops that I consider progressive. We have gotten a small group of shops listed in my updates who heard about the book and "get it". Unfortunately, those who don't pledge will need to be satisfied with 2nd printings of the book making your first print copy a collector's item.

Well done with all the efforts you are making with getting Unite and Take over off the ground. I went in to Forbidden Planet in Glasgow to sound them out about possible sponsorship . It's a well known and well established comic book purveyor . They knew nothing about the project and didn't seem interested. The manager of the shop started shaking his head before I'd got to the end of my second sentence then waved his hands in the air as if he were swatting away a wasp saying " Not my department". He advised me to contact head office which I did by email but have not received a reply and don't expect to. Miserable bunch. I would have expected a bit more foresight and creativity from such an organisation but apparently not.............I will persevere...

Hi! I just have to say how much I love the idea of this project. I have both family and friends that are huge Smiths and comic fans and will also love to hear about this. This is definately a must have for us.
I myself have been working on a Sci-Fi comic fuelled and heavily inspired by The Smiths, mainly The Headmaster Ritual, Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now and A Rush And A Push And The Land Is Ours. I don't mean to hijack, but as a fellow comic artist and Smiths fan I'd love to share with you, you're so very welcome to visit whenever you're bored. It's free! :P

Timm - I'm not confident about reaching the goal, but so far we are at 37% of the goal in only 4 days with the help of backers like you. Thank you for support and feedback. As we get closer to the goal, I should have a better idea what the cost of the "upgrades" would be.
It's great you're going to exceed your goal. I personally would prefer a normal-sized comic, and I'm sure many others would as well, since you are looking for options to spend your extra pledge money on.
