Raising money for a food cart and equipment. Food is sustainable, local, and non-GMO. The idea is for the trailer to resemble a train
This project is for our food cart, coming soon to Portland, Oregon
***If you want to see what our menu is like, look at update # 1 in the updates section***
What we're about…
• We strive to cook everything we can from scratch with the freshest ingredients possible. We like to think that our customers can taste the love in our handmade wares.
• We always try to source our products from local farmers and vendors who practice sustainable, organic methods of production. We definitely try to steer clear of GMOs
•We are going with a Seafood focused menu partially because we like to avoid meat and poultry from factory farms, and also because we've noticed that among all of the dozens of food carts in the city of Portland, very few of them do any seafood and none of them focus on sustainable seafood only.
•We only use fish and shellfish from the Pacific Northwest that has been sustainably harvested as advised by www.seafoodwatch.org. We will keep wallet cards that list these guidelines which we provide free to our customers upon request.
• We always offer vegetarian and vegan menu options.
• We only use earth-friendly, biodegradable products to serve our food on.
• We only use non-hydrogenated oils which may consist of vegetable (soy), grape seed and olive oils, and avoid any oils which may have come from genetically modified sources
What we need your help with:
Getting the rest of our equipment and the supplies to make the trailer resemble the caboose of a train so that it can tie in with our name, "Local Motive". Part of it will also go towards paying for the trailer itself.
We have an awesome location near OHSU that we would really like to hold on to, so while we are most of the way there, we still need about $10,000 to make all this happen. Thank you so much for your contributions, every dollar counts!
