Dear Avi Krum enthusiasts,

I was recently interviewed about THE FILMS OF AVI KRUM on Kick In, a live streaming show about Kickstarter projects, during which I talk about writing the script, working with Dan Rather, and overusing the phrase "I hope so."  Here's the audio if you have 20 minutes to kill:

I also have an update for our international backers, many of whom have asked me about shipping costs (they really have, I swear). Adding extra money to your pledge for shipping costs is entirely up to you, but it would really help us out if you live outside of the United States. (Unfortunately, the U.S. Postal Service charges extortive rates to send DVDs and poster tubes beyond our borders.) For pledges $100 or less, $20 will definitely cover our costs, and above that $30-35 should do it. Again -- this is completely voluntary, and only required if you're feeling generous or have some extra cash that you need to get rid of for legal reasons. We'll send you your reward no matter what.

Finally, if you live in South Korea or another country with restrictive customs policies, you may be concerned about receiving a DVD in the mail that resembles North Korean propaganda. Fear not! We are now offering, upon special request, the THE FILMS OF AVI KRUM: A LOVE STORY DVD. The content of the film is the same, but the DVD is encased in stealth packaging that resembles an inoffensive romantic comedy designed to penetrate the heart of your local customs official and travel straight to your doorstep.

Thanks so much for your continued support! With 14 days left to go, we're 127% funded -- but plenty of rewards are left. We can always use extra funding to spend more time on visual effects, and send the film to more festivals, so be sure to tell your friends about AVI KRUM.

Dear friends,

At 9 PM PST last night, THE FILMS OF AVI KRUM hit its fundraising goal of $5,800. I am immensely grateful to all of our backers for making this crazy little movie possible, and I can't wait to share it with you later this year. 

I'd also like to thank the Kickstarter staff, who spotlighted our project on the home page yesterday and sent us straight over the top. (And some of you guys even backed us! Haven't you done enough??)

There are still 25 days left in our campaign and plenty of rewards remaining, so please tell your friends about our project. Every extra dollar we earn will go straight back into the movie -- more convincing visual effects, better facilities for sound mixing, and more submissions to film festivals near you.
