Video Update - Our outstanding technology team has created a video about the Kickstarter campaign! All footage is from our recent trip to Forth Smith, Arkansas for the Arkansas Bandmasters Association performance.

Welcome to our project! 

The Lone Star Wind Orchestra, a world-class ensemble seeking to inspire people and impact lives through music, has been invited to perform at the annual Mid-West Convention this December in Chicago. It is an honor to be selected and we are thrilled to be given this opportunity; BUT (and there’s always a but isn’t there?) for us to take the opportunity we need $15,000 to get us there.

Why Kickstarter?

LSWO is made up of musicians who, for the love of the music and their community, faithfully donate the gift of their time and talent. In order for our group of dedicated musicians to make it to Chicago, we must raise $15,000 to get them there. LSWO is a non-profit organization, therefore our budget is provided through generous donations and grants, but that barely covers LSWO’s normal yearly operating costs. So, to make this upcoming performance happen for the group, we need your help!

About the Project

$15,000 by September 1st, that’s our goal. Simply, that's what it will take to pay for the ensemble to travel to Chicago and play the concert. What do we have planned for this special event? Our regular conductor, Eugene Migiliaro Corporon, will help lead us on the podium; the ensemble will be guest conducted by Leonard Slatkin; we will premiere a new percussion trio accompanied by the wind orchestra, and the world-renowned soloists are Mark Ford, Christopher Deane, and Brian Zator. All of this equals memorable music, artistic excellence, and soaring spirits!

Rewards 

As a small thank you, we have simple rewards for those who can contribute to our cause, including backstage passes, the recently-released Converging Cultures recording from the NAXOS label, a post-concert reception, and more. And, since we are a non-profit, all backers can receive a tax-deductible receipt for your pledge! You can see all of the rewards listed on the right side of this page. AND, if that wasn’t enough, as a not-for-profit organization, your donations will be tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law -- so you can’t lose!
