Well Hello! Thanks for visiting our Kickstarter page. We would like to share with you an awesome product we have been developing called the SCAMP (Small Camera Platform).

The SCAMP is a high quality, robust, ergonomic handle for small hand-held video cameras. In recent years there has been an explosion of small cameras capable of filming in high definition. We saw the need to create a stable platform to film from, especially when filming for long periods of time or when trying to get those high quality steady shots. Our device is a tool to assist the amateur to professional videographer.

The SCAMP consists of a CNC machined and anodized aircraft grade aluminum platform with dual gripped handles. Along the top of the platform is an inlayed rubber surface to protect your camera, as well as non-slip grips on the handles for a secure hold. The SCAMP's captive thumb screw allows for easy mounting of your camera via its built in tripod mount, so there are no small parts to lose or tools required.

While the SCAMP was designed with pocket style HD video cameras in mind, (for example the Kodak Zi and Zx series, Sony's Bloggie, Creative's Vado, The Filp), it can also be used with a whole range of other cameras and phones capable of shooting HD video. This includes the iPhone or Android phone (with an adapter), point & shoot cameras, DSLRs, and any camera or device with a standard tripod mount. The SCAMP is not only a versatile and quality product, but also a durable one. Since it is based on the long standing 1/4-20 tripod mount standard, it will work with future cameras making it a useful tool for years to come. We are hoping to initially launch through Kickstarter in order to gauge interest in our product, as well as bring costs down through manufacturing in scale.The Kickstarter community seems to be an enthusiastic group of early adopters. The concept of cloud-funding people's ideas and projects appeals to us as it gives the community a sense of pride and ownership in seeing small and independent ideas become a success. Kickstarter is also full of independent artists and creators who are the exact group of people we would like to share our product with.
