Based in part on Greek mythology, the film follows the Bercow sisters as they meet on the third anniversary of their sibling's death.
Centering on Jorah Bercow, a drifter and the youngest of three sisters, the Culling of Wolves details a death-ritual that the sisters celebrate every year at the family orchard in rural Oregon on the anniversary of their older sibling's untimely death. Stylistically, the film will be developed with nods to Bergman, Godard, and Terrence Malick; it will be female-centric, modern, and is intended as a study of family ruptures and the nature of grief as experienced by women in three distinct age groups. The duration of the film is planned at being an hour to an hour and a half.
Funding is needed for filming equipment (cameras, microphones), editing software, and promotion. The intended filming locations--in Brownsville and Corvallis, Oregon--are free of charge and the actresses and film crew will be working in a dedicated, but ultimately volunteer capacity. We have some gifted and excited people ready to give their time to make this production happen.
