Help us make our dream, manifested in the new, ambitious web-series Super-Townie, a reality, by aiding us in the funding of the next phase of development - the premiere, the launch, the exposure, the marketing, the whole shebang. We would be honored to have you on board with us.

Super-Townie is the brainchild of Greg LaVoie and myself, two close friends who have been through thick and thin since our early days in high school, growing up in Melrose, Massachusetts. With another very close friend, Nick Viau, Greg happened upon a neighborhood of Revere, MA while browsing a Boston Metropolitan Atlas called "Point of Pines". Enamored with the peninsular northern section of Revere bearing this name, the three of us reverted to what social skill we knew best - absurd humor. Within minutes, the inside jokes were flying and within an hour or so we had invented our own concept of what Point of Pines was really like, though not one of us had ever been there before. We envisioned a land ruled by absent-minded townies, spending their days in monotonous routine and repeating platitudes known only to the humble Point of Pines townspeople. (In case you don't know what a townie is, it is an individual who never leaves his hometown and lives such a small-town, mundane life that his perspective on the world is vastly inaccurate) We suggested filming a mockumentary about Point of Pines townies, but the idea never materialized. Finally, while Greg and I were living together in Somerville last year (2011), Greg came home from work one day to tell me about a particularly unique townie he had encountered on the train, known to us now as the Hummingbird Man. I had had enough, I decided, and I was tired of beating around the bush. "That's it," I said. "We're making a tv show." That night, Greg and I wrote the outline for the first episode, called "My Lawn". Since that day, we have enlisted the help of dozens of close friends, many of whom we have known since high school and plenty that we met along the way, and have successfully finished filming two full-length (25 minute) episodes and seven short films (ranging from 30 seconds to 8 minutes). The two full-length episodes are in the final stages of editing and post-production and are nearly complete. The only issue is that we have run out of funding - so far our budget has been 100% out-of-pocket - and we need to rent a theater in which we will hold the premiere, showing the two episodes and some shorts in between. The rent for one night is hundreds of dollars and we need to finance the production of simple merchandise, such as tee-shirts, and proceed onto the next step. Hopefully one day you will all be able to say that you contributed to the wildly successful television sit-com, Super-Townie. It would mean the world to us.
