Granted, the world seems to be going sideways, no matter where you look, nevertheless, it seemed unbelievable that a film on Les Blank had failed to make its goal. This morning's news is the hurrah heard round the world, and not simply the film world, but the world where the good, the generous and the masters of keepin' on keepin' on finally have their day. Cannot wait to see Les finally have his day! Good on you, Gina, bravo Les!

A very worthy project. Years ago, when I was starting out as a filmmaker, I reached out to Les and he invited me for a meeting. We watched a film I made on the wall of the Arhoolie warehouse and discussed Les' career. He shared stories of his beginnings, and told me about the making of Blues According to Lightin' Hopkins (the greatest music doc of all time.) He then invited me into his editing room as he and Maureen watched a very early cut of Burden of Dreams. I'll always be grateful for the kindness and encouragement Les showed me that day, and for the inspiration his body of work has been to my own career. Thanks Les!

Les Blank has successfully crafted so many beautiful films through his sensitive eyes. His work has been an on going educational and artistic inspiration to our family for many years! Don't forget to include the contributions of my sister, Maureen, who along with many others helped to create these masterpieces! Good luck to you in this project.

It's a real privilege to give back in a small way for all the joy and wonder Les and Harrod have put in my life: Les for his vision and films so full of joie de vivre, and Harrod, starting with his high school student days and going to art cars and beyond. Carry on, guys!

Meeting Les Blank and his son Harrod Blank has had the greatest impact on my life, for the past 17 years. I love Les's films, aesthetic, eccentricity, brilliance! I can not wait until this film comes to fruition. With David and Harrod working with you Gina, you can not miss the mark!

Les was very kind to me and played an important role in my life about 20 years ago. I wish I felt I could afford to give a lot more money. Perhaps I will be able to save some money and increase my pledge. I offer my best wishes to Les and my thanks and gratitude to the people who are working on this project. Sincerely, Scott Welsch (welschott@yahoo.com)
