About this project
I love finding beauty in everyday objects - and that's just what these linens are. So useful, and so special: my original illustrations and designs, screen printed with water-based inks, and all on fine luxury linen that's sustainable and eco-friendly. Not only do these linens replace disposable napkins, but put them in the washer and dryer and they just get softer. Best of all, they add style and beauty to daily breakfasts and elegant dinner parties alike. They also make wonderful gifts!
My first collection of linens had a fantastic reception and was featured in popular design blogs and well known magazines (see my website for more) -- and with your help I'm confident this second collection will shine even brighter!!
The funding we raise here will pay for the gorgeous linen, as well as the printers and sewers. In productions such as this one, there are a lot of initial costs that make new designs quite expensive to make -- in particular there are minimum quantity orders for fabric, printing, and sewing - plus new screens, custom color mixing, samples, and labor of course. The goal of $3,700 set here is the very minimum needed to make the ever-popular (so many requests!) linen calendar, napkins and tea towels.
I've been wanting to make more linens for almost a year now, and so I already have a sketchbook full of designs, artwork, and color swatches. The first step will be to whittle my ideas down to the most exciting designs, and, if we're able to raise more than the set goal, the more designs and product we can make -- like aprons, coasters, make-up bags and weekend bags, throw pillows, quilts - and believe it or not I have more ideas up my sleeve!
I hope to have the linens finished for the holidays (ready set go!!)-- I'm participating in the SF Renegade Craft Fair (Dec. 18 &19), and i'd love to have them available on my website for you and other holiday shoppers too. For this reason, i'm shortening the funding duration to just 20 days (rather than the typical 30 days).

I'm Diva, the artist and designer behind LINEA CARTA. Although I'm from the SF bay area, I lived and worked in Italy for several years, and 'LINEA CARTA' means 'paper collection' in Italian - because when i began this business in 2007 I started with a line of hand-printed greeting cards.
Since then I've created an extensive eco-friendly brand of luxury goods: hand-printed cards, custom invitations and announcements, gifts for the home and baby, and most recently these beautiful linens.
Besides managing LINEA CARTA's wholesale business and custom projects, I'm also working on a children's book series, designing custom aprons for an exquisite NY restaurant, and hand-lettering the title credits for a movie.
My number one (and two) inspiration are my exceptionally cute dogs, henry and nico (see my website or blog for pics!).
