About this project
The Color Field Ensemble believes in fostering new music in the Midwest. That's why for the second annual Color Field Festival to be held August 19-21, we're bringing players from across the continent to collaborate in Madison, WI. Players from Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Omaha, and Toledo will literally meet in the middle for 4 concerts and a large-scale "happening" in the state that brought us workers' unions and delicious cheddar.
We're doing a small fundraiser so that we can keep audience costs low, while still being able to make the festival as awesome as possible.
Guest artists included Owen Weaver (percussion), Domenica Fossati (flute), Molly McLaughlin (flute), Derek Johnson and players from New Muse and the Surrounded by Reality New Music Collective. We'll join forces to play new works by Ravi Kittappa, Chris Chandler, Andrew Martin Smith, Christopher Dietz, Edward Hamel, Jeff Weston, David Grant, Derek Johnson, and Robert Honstien.
We have some great events and guests lined up for this festival, but we need your help to make it happen. Help us reach our goal, support the arts, and bring some great new music to Madison!
Here is the schedule of events:
Friday (8/19), 6:00 PM: World Premier of Ravi Kittappa's "Decantations III" at the Capitol Square.
Friday (8/19), 8:00 PM: Concert I at the Project Lodge (free wine at 8:00, music at 8:30).
Saturday (8/20), 8:00 PM: Concert II at the Project Lodge (free wine at 8:00, music at 8:30).
Sunday (8/21), 2:30 PM: Concert III at the Project Lodge.
Each Project Lodge concert will cost $7 at the door. Tickets for all three concerts can be purchased for $15.
