All new gameplay video of Sprocket Junkie Demo!

Sprocket Junkie is an intense action racing game for iOS devices (e.g. iPhone, iPod Touch 4). It is a “spiritual successor” to the 1996 PC game Rocket Jockey.

In Sprocket Junkie, players enter a steampunk world where they ride atop crazy jet engines, rocketing through race courses inside a vast stadium. Harpoon cannons are mounted on either side of the engine chassis. Players fire grappling hooks to latch onto walls for sharp turns, or to grab other riders and yank them to the ground! Two grappling hooks tethered together will create a trip wire that can knock unsuspecting riders from their engines.

Sprocket Junkie will have multiple game modes for both single and multi-player. The single player modes focus on racing and time trials. Multiple Sprocket-earning modes allow players to free roam around the stadium, building up point multipliers and grabbing pickups to rack up huge scores.

In the Sprocket Junkie Tournament, riders risk life and limb to win the competition. Each contestant wins Sprockets based on his or her performance, which can be spent customizing the engines.

Customization is a large component of racing games and Sprocket Junkie is no exception. Everyone wants to pilot their own personal creation. The engine chassis will have nine customizable slots, each supporting a wide range of attachments so players can create unique and personalized rocket designs. Rocket accessories will also come in sets to create a themed rocket to jet around the stadium.

Multi-player is also in the works for Sprocket Junkie. In versus mode, players grapple, trap, and burn their rivals to be the last man standing. Sport-style and team modes are also planned for release in free updates. Leaderboards and challenges will keep bringing players back for more!.

We designed a papercraft model of the rocket for those that pledge $10 or more. To help you with construction we have even prepared a guide complete with tips and tricks. Check out our early prototype!
