About this project
Dear friends, fans, strangers, and music-lovers in general,
It's finally time! I'm going to record my LONG awaited sophomore album! YOU can become a part of it by helping to fund it in advance of its release.
It's been several years since I self- released my debut recording, "It's Not The Moon". 7 to be exact. Since then, I've done so many things. I have travelled around the world, giving concerts in South Africa, Guatemala, New Zealand, Nepal...I've soaked up the spirit and music of the people I met, the musicians I've performed with, but I haven't made the album I have wanted to make. Until now. The opportunity to work with an amazing producer and world-class musicians has presented itself, I've been scrimping and saving in order to make the album. But my scrimping and saving just isn't enough. It costs a lot of money to make an album, and that's where you come in! No, I'm not just asking for your money for no reason. I'm giving you incentives to buy into a product you already like. If you dig my music, and would buy or download the CD and come to my concerts anyway, now you get to it in advance, and get the album of my music you've been waiting for! Furthermore, this is an affordable and exciting way for YOU to be able to fund the creative arts in a time when when arts in this country are severely underfunded. Haven't you ever gone to a museum and thought to yourself, "Man, it'd be SO cool to be a benefactor for some really cool artist". Now's your chance!
About the project:
The record will be made in New York City, with some the THE best jazz musicians in the whole wide world. Although subject to change, people who will most likely participate in the recording are:
Producer: Matt Pierson. Matt has worked with the musicians who have inspired us all. The ones we listened to constantly when we went to music school. Brad Meldau, Joshua Redman, Kenny Garrett...he's wonderful and I'm SO excited to work with him!
Other people involved in the project are: Taylor Eigsti (piano), Aaron Parks (piano) and Eric Harland (drums). These guys are among the best young musicians (jazz or otherwise) on EARTH.
There will be others involved in the recording, but as it's not yet set in stone, I'm gonna leave it at this for now to tempt you and get you as excited as I am.
So, keep reading the you'll see all of the wonderful things that your small investment can get you! Please keep in mind, my $7500 goal is literally a mere drop in the bucket compared to what the album will cost to record, but I thought it would make a good realistic goal. The rest is up to little ole me.
