IF YOU LOVE HALLOWEEN AND YOU LOVE COMICS THEN THIS PROJECT IS FOR YOU!

We love carving pumpkins, decorating the house with cobwebs, and dressing up to hand out candy to trick-or-treaters.  We also love comics and introducing them to new readers.

It seemed only natural to combine these two loves into Trick-or-Comics!

What is it?

Trick-or-Comics are comics that you can hand out to trick-or-treaters this Halloween either physically or digitally.  These are original comics with a wide range of art styles and diverse characters that tell unique stories with traditional genre elements.

THE COMICS

As the chart illustrates, we are producing a series of mini-comics for all boys and girls ringing your doorbell and demanding treats.  There are two distinct flavors to these comics.  The first series is an all-ages approach that anyone can enjoy while the second are in the vein of classic 1950s horror comics.  Additionally, the mini-comics will include activities such as crosswords, mazes, and color-by-numbers, etc.

We're also producing stickers with a QR code and URL that easily affix to candy so that you can give away digital copies of the comics as well.  These stickers will be color-coded to make it easy to know which book you're giving to which trick-or-treater.  

The stickers will lead them to our website, trickorcomics.com, where they can read the comics online or download them as a PDF.  

As you can see from the rewards listed, we are also making physical copies available in addition to the stickers.  This way you can see future comic fans created before your very eyes!

Collected Editions

Two 16-page Comic Books (B&W)

The mini-comics series will be collected into two traditional-format comic books without the activities but with added stories.  These will each number at least 16 pages and printed in grayscale black-and-white.

A 32-page Full-Color Comic Book

This will be a traditional comic book at least 32-pages long and will collect the stories from both of the previous black-and-white comic books. The stories will be printed in full color just like they'll appear on the website.

This higher-quality version is for collectors and higher-end supporters who love floppies like we do.

The Process Art Book

This is a traditional book, our behind the scenes, "making-of" tome.  This is a showcase of the production process. Scripts, sketches, concept art, character design, page layouts, and unlettered pages with roughs for side-by-side comparisons.

SERIES ONE - THE FUN COMICS

Night of the Robots - Three friends tell three very different stories about their encounter with robot invaders from space.

Last Flight of the Mary Celeste - Despite dire warnings, two siblings fly their airship during Hallows Eve and encounter the floating wreck of the ghost dirigible Mary Celeste!

Lil' Jenny Greenteeth - A charming reimagining of the story of the swamp hag, Jenny Greenteeth.

SERIES TWO - THE SCARY COMICS

Curse of the Wei Brothers - Three brothers fish up more than they're looking for when they catch a mermaid.

Things We Do for Love - A not so simple tale of love, loss, and voodoo.

Why Call It Witch Lake? - A local legend turns out to be terrifyingly real for a group of campers.

THE FUNDS

Where's the money going?

The money we collect will go to the artists and writers who are working on our stories, the printing and shipping of stickers and comics, and towards designing and running an excellent website.  Any excess funds will go towards producing more comics and getting them to you!

WHEN DO WE GET OUR STUFF?

Everyone who supports this project will receive digital content equal to the reward level which will be available to you as soon everything is complete in early to late September.  

For everyone who will be receiving physical copies we are looking to ship late September to early October. That way everyone will have their swag on time but won't have to find a place to keep it for too long.

WHO ARE WE?

We are a small group of Seattle artists and writers who love comics and are trying to produce cool swag for Halloween. As such we've gotten together and started this project with the hopes of funding our goal.
